Engineering Management Conference Japan 2027
Overview
A community-run conference dedicated to practitioners of engineering management. Engineers aspiring to become EMs, seasoned engineering managers and executives gather under the themes of "amplification" and "catalyst" to share insight and challenges. The third edition focuses on "transformation" in the role and expected outcomes of managers, at a time when the value of management itself is being questioned.

First held in 2025 as a place to spread the energy of engineering managers. The inaugural edition ran as "Engineering Manager Conference Japan"; from 2026 it was renamed "Engineering Management Conference Japan" to cover management practice more broadly.

SPI Japan 2026
A specialist software process improvement conference run by the Japan SPI Consortium (JASPIC) since 2000. It travels to a different host city each year, and in 2026 runs for three days at AOSSA in Fukui City. Built around corporate improvement case studies and tutorials, its ¥40,000 main-conference fee marks it as a dense, practitioner-facing event.
GREE Tech Conference 2026
A technology conference hosted by GREE Holdings under the theme "How We Build", framed around the process of development rather than the finished product. Three parallel tracks cover AI, data analysis, game development, infrastructure, and security, with a keynote by the company's Masaki Fujimoto. Free to attend in a hybrid format, including seats that come with an office tour.
CAPCOM Open Conference RE:2026 Osaka
Capcom's technical conference opening up the internals and production know-how of its in-house RE ENGINE. Returning after three years, it expands to two cities, Tokyo and Osaka. Both days, October 17-18, run the student track. Sessions reach into rendering and AI-driven QA automation on shipping titles. Free to attend, with a lottery if applications exceed capacity.
