YAPC::Tokyo 2026

Overview

A conference for IT engineers centered on Perl, hosted by the Japan Perl Association. Marking the 10th anniversary of the touring YAPC::Japan series launched in 2016, the 2026 edition takes place at Tokyo Big Sight under the theme "Patchwork." Talks go well beyond Perl, and the event is known for dense community exchange from the pre-party to the after-party. The 2024 Hiroshima edition drew a series-record 448 attendees.

Program

• Eve party on Nov 27, main conference on Nov 28-29
• Three parallel tracks plus a hands-on room, with 50 accepted talks out of 241 proposals
• Keynote by Daisuke Maki (lestrrat); guest speakers Shunichiro Fujiwara (fujiwara) and voluntas
• Special conversation between Larry Wall and Yukihiro Matsumoto (Matz), and an impromptu LT workshop led by hitode909
• Lightning talks, a TIMTOWTDI relay LT and a U29 session, plus a Day 1 evening party (separate party ticket)

After predecessor YAPC::Asia Tokyo (2006-2015) concluded at a scale of over 2,000 attendees, the event relaunched in 2016 as the touring YAPC::Japan series, starting with YAPC::Hokkaido.

2. 2015 Over 2,000 people gathered at YAPC::Asia Tokyo 2015, closing that chapter of the series
