CAPCOM Open Conference RE:2026 Tokyo
Overview
Capcom's technical conference opening up the internals and production know-how of its in-house RE ENGINE. Returning after three years, it expands to two cities, Tokyo and Osaka. A professional track on October 2 and a student track on October 3. Sessions reach into rendering and AI-driven QA automation on shipping titles. Free to attend, with a lottery if applications exceed capacity.

First held in 2019 to open up RE ENGINE technology. An in-person edition followed in 2022, and in 2023 it ran online under the "Professional" banner with a raised technical bar. The 2026 edition expands to Tokyo and Osaka with separate professional and student tracks.

PHP Conference Ehime 2026
The Ehime edition of Japan's nationwide network of regional PHP conferences, debuting in 2026. Held at Ehime University's Johoku Campus, the programme is built around an open call for talks run through fortee. Shikoku has long been a blank spot on Japan's tech conference map, making this one of the few places where PHP engineers in the prefecture meet speakers from outside it.
Sapporo Game Camp 2026
Hokkaido's largest game development event, run jointly by Sapporo-based studios. Three days combine a two-day game jam, programming and 3DCG courses for school students, talk sessions with working developers, and company booths. Twenty-one studios cooperate, led by Sega Sapporo Studio and joined by the City of Sapporo, with 4,400 cumulative participants to date.
Information Security Workshop in Echigo-Yuzawa 2026
One of Japan's oldest residential security workshops, held at the Echigo-Yuzawa hot-spring resort since 1998. It centers on small-group "kuruma-za" discussions rather than lectures, with debate across industry, government and academia running deep into the night. The 2026 edition takes self-help, mutual aid and public assistance as its theme on October 9-10. Registration has already closed at capacity.
