Internet Week 2026
Overview
A comprehensive event on Internet infrastructure technology hosted by JPNIC. Running since 1997, it gathers the engineers who keep routing, DNS, and security infrastructure working, across disciplines. Programs range from tutorials to trend seminars; the 2025 edition drew a cumulative 3,900+ participants. The 2026 edition runs November 19-27, split into an Online Week and a Conference Week (November 25-27 in Ryogoku, Tokyo).
Program
- Two parts: Online Week (Nov 19, 20, 23, 24) and Conference Week (Nov 25-27 at KFC Hall & Rooms, not streamed)
- Three categories (Basic, Latest Trends, Practice): 3 online talks and 21 conference sessions
- Up to 3 parallel rooms (Hall, Annex, 2nd) in Conference Week; IP Meeting 2026 in three parts on the final day
- 5 paid hands-on workshops with limited seats, first come first served (separate option booking required)
- Co-located JPOPM51 and ISOC Gathering, plus a networking party on the final evening

Growing out of the IP Meeting researchers' gathering begun in 1990, it evolved into a knowledge-sharing forum for the engineer community that expanded with the Internet's commercialization.

Computer Security Symposium 2026 (CSS2026)
The central academic symposium for security research in Japan, run by IPSJ's Computer Security research group since 1998. It convenes co-located workshops on malware countermeasures (MWS), privacy (PWS) and usable security (UWS) across five days, spanning formal theory through psychological and social dimensions. The host city rotates annually, with Hamamatsu hosting in 2026.
Security Days Fall 2026
One of Japan's largest cybersecurity exhibition-and-seminar events, organized by NANO OPT Media. Held twice a year, the autumn edition tours five cities including Sapporo, Osaka, Fukuoka, Tokyo, and Nagoya. It delivers, free of charge, the latest incident trends and defenses against ransomware and targeted attacks for practitioners. The Tokyo venue alone draws cumulative session attendance of around 16,000.
16th International Cybersecurity Symposium
A four-day international symposium co-hosted by Keio University KGRI with INCS-CoE, MITRE and the Sasakawa Peace Foundation, spanning national, economic and societal security. Its distinguishing feature is a speaker roster of Japanese cabinet-level officials alongside ambassador-level representatives and UN officials, debating multilateral public-private cooperation around AI and quantum technology. Free and held in person, it is a rare venue for government-level sessions at this scale.
