PHP Conference Kansai 2026
Overview
A regional conference rooted in the Kansai PHP Users Group, where PHP engineers across the Kansai region share technology and hands-on experience. Following Osaka in 2024 and Kobe in 2025, this edition moves to Kyoto, rotating among the region's cities to widen participation. Themed "The next starts here," it puts weight on an in-person venue where knowledge and people meet as generative AI changes how engineers work. Although named the 2026 edition, it takes place in January 2027.

Launched in 2011, the conference ran eight editions through 2018. After a six-year gap it returned in Osaka in 2024 and now rotates among Kansai cities, from Kobe to Kyoto. Built around open-call talks, it aims to be a place where Kansai PHP developers trade knowledge and level up.

SPI Japan 2026
A specialist software process improvement conference run by the Japan SPI Consortium (JASPIC) since 2000. It travels to a different host city each year, and in 2026 runs for three days at AOSSA in Fukui City. Built around corporate improvement case studies and tutorials, its ¥40,000 main-conference fee marks it as a dense, practitioner-facing event.
GREE Tech Conference 2026
A technology conference hosted by GREE Holdings under the theme "How We Build", framed around the process of development rather than the finished product. Three parallel tracks cover AI, data analysis, game development, infrastructure, and security, with a keynote by the company's Masaki Fujimoto. Free to attend in a hybrid format, including seats that come with an office tour.
Kaigi on Rails 2026
Japan's largest conference for Ruby on Rails users, positioned as "a web technology conference enjoyable for everyone from beginners to experts" with a strong focus on practical, production-grounded sessions. The 2026 edition runs two keynotes — Ruby creator Yukihiro Matsumoto on day one and Rails creator DHH on day two. It continues its hybrid format with several hundred on-site attendees.
