Voices
A solo first-timer called it a mixed-martial-arts test of web application knowledge and enormously fun, noting you learn simply by competing and learn even more by reviewing afterwards (from an ISUCON14 participant's diary, in Japanese)
A first-time team finished 344th of 831 and hit their top-50% goal, reflecting that practice problems had felt discouraging but they stayed calm on the day, which proved how much preparation matters (from Nifty Lifestyle's report, in Japanese)
