Overview

One of the world's largest international conferences dedicated to the Ruby language. Ruby creator Yukihiro Matsumoto (Matz), the core team, and developers from around the globe gather for deep technical talks on language internals, implementations, and performance. Following its tradition of touring Japan, the 2027 edition heads to Miyazaki.

First held in June 2006 in Odaiba, Tokyo as "Nihon Ruby Kaigi" with about 251 attendees. As the Ruby community grew, it internationalized into a global conference drawing Ruby developers worldwide.

Transition

  1. 2006 第1回「日本Ruby会議」をお台場で開催(251名参加)
  2. 2013 「RubyKaigi」として再始動。英語名を正式名称に
  3. 2018 仙台で開催。国際カンファレンスとして定着
  4. 2026 函館で開催
  5. 2027 宮崎で開催予定(メディキット県民文化センター)
